When and why is a small-order surcharge applied?

We handle small and very small orders with the same care as large ones – but they generate disproportionately high packaging, handling, and shipping costs.

For orders with a net merchandise value below EUR 49, a small-order surcharge of EUR 9.90 is applied. This amount helps to partially cover the additional costs for packaging, picking, and shipment preparation.

Thank you for your understanding – and we appreciate it if you combine orders whenever possible to avoid this surcharge.

When and Why Is a Small-Order Surcharge Applied?

Criterion Description Purpose / Effect
Equal Care for Every Order Even small and very small orders are processed with the same care and precision as large-volume orders. Ensures consistent quality in picking, packaging, and shipping.
Cost Structure Every order incurs fixed costs for handling, packaging materials, and shipping preparation – regardless of order value. For very small orders, these fixed costs may exceed the value of the goods.
Threshold For a net merchandise value below EUR 49, a small-order surcharge of EUR 9.90 applies. Partially offsets additional packaging and handling expenses.
Transparency The surcharge is displayed separately in the shopping cart and on the invoice. Provides full cost transparency for your accounting.
How to Avoid It Combine several smaller needs into one consolidated order. This saves shipping costs, reduces packaging waste, and avoids the surcharge.
